Our “little Terp” (aka B-man) was one month old about a week and a half ago. We took some special pictures with his “sticky bellies” (love these by the way! I never did them with the girls but I think they are so cute and am so excited to have these pictures for his one year birthday).
A friend of mine who has a blog does a post like this where she lists “stats” for each milestone of life…most of this won’t mean much to any of you – but I love the idea of being able to look back at each stage with such detail (because let’s be honest, keeping up with the baby book is not my strong suit!)
So here are Bennett’s 1 month stats:
Weight: approx. 8.5 lbs – he weighed in at 8 lbs 2 oz at two weeks – so I would think he is to 8 1/2 pounds by now – maybe even a little more. Very excited to see where he is at his 2 month appointment
B was sleeping from about 11:30 – 4:00am at a month – then eating again at 7:00am – which was wonderful for Mommy – still was difficult to get out of bed each time but much better than the every 3 hours we had to do for the first 2 weeks.
He is eating about 3-4oz of breastmilk…we nursed for the first 2 weeks and then B got confused when he finally got a bottle and decided that was quicker and easier for him. I had a hard time with it at first but once we were running around more it was just easy to pump and give him bottles, so that is what we are doing full-time now. My goal is to make it 2 months – we will see! I have always had issues with milk supply so when he does start eating more – we will have to supplement and then probably call it a day with the pumping 
B is still wearing newborn clothes – but probably not for too long – his 0-3 month sleepers are starting to fit for length – everything else 0-3 is still too big…which is fine because I love the NB stuff and it will be a little sad to see him outgrow that – I just ADORE this newborn phase when they are tiny little peanuts who just love to cuddle and that you can pretty much hold with one hand…
All in all we have adjusted well this past month to our new family of 6 – the girls just adore their little brother – they really have been doing so well with Mommy being less accessible and have relied more on each other for entertaining…they love to hold and talk to Bennett and are getting better at not smothering him…they now are working on making him smile – its so cute to see them talk “baby talk” to his face..definitely need to get that on video
I’ve had so many people ask me if its different having a boy and all I can say is it is so amazing how much you just fall in love with each of your children. Just when you think your love is maxed out you find a whole new passion…Bennett has just grabbed a hold of our hearts and I couldn’t imagine our family without him. I wouldn’t say I notice a huge difference between boy and girls yet…but I do look forward to all it means to have a son and can’t wait to see what little personality is brewing in side of him Right how I’m just appreciating each moment of this baby phase..knowing it is our last..soaking it all in!
